Sainte Foy Tarentaise is a 1 hour 15 minute drive from Chambéry, 2 hours 15 minutes from Geneva, 3 hours 30 minutes from Lyon, and 2 hours 40 minutes from Turin.
The chalet is located in a hamlet just outside the village of Sainte Foy Tarentaise, below the D902, the road that leads up to Val d'Isère and Tignes.
You can find directions to the chalet on Google Maps.
A 200-meter-long road, cleared of snow throughout the winter, leads to the chalet, a place nestled in the rock at the edge of the forest, where you can hear the Isère River crashing in the gorges below.
The chalet is the last building at the end of the road, and you will have access to private parking.
Opposite, the imposing Mont Pourri massif and the off-piste descents from the Aiguille Rouge, the highest ski lift in Les Arcs, command your attention. To the west, you overlook the valley, and the resort of La Rosière lies directly in front of you.
Access to the resorts is guaranteed even in heavy snowfall, as we are located along the D902, the main road serving the prestigious resorts upstream.
The Haute Tarentaise region and its ski areas
await you. Treat yourself to the discovery of some of the world's most beautiful resorts.
La Ferme Saint Aubin, with its geographical location and easy, permanent access to the D902, is an ideal base for exploring the slopes, off-piste areas, and incomparable routes offered by our Haute Tarentaise resorts. These ski areas are world-renowned, and in just one week, you can discover the best of their variety and richness.
From the chalet, you can reach Tignes Tovières in 15 minutes, Val d'Isère town center in 25 minutes, and Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise resort in 6 minutes.
Access to the Les Arcs Paradiski and La Plagne ski areas, via Villaroger, is a 7-minute drive; note the new ski lift which significantly increases access to Arc 2000.
La Rosières, 12 kilometers away, offers a gateway to Italy with the Espace San Bernardo, which includes La Rosières and La Thuille, where you can enjoy delicious pasta after a beautiful run with views of Mont Blanc.
And let's not forget Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise, renowned for its incredible off-piste freeriding.
To fully enjoy these extraordinary locations, a vehicle is essential. Should you wish to arrive by train or plane, we can offer transportation options to your ski destinations.
Each day you can choose your best route according to technical difficulties, weather, snow conditions, tourist traffic, the lure of the restaurant...
In all cases, this freedom, this incomparable choice, guarantees the success of your skiing holiday.
The hamlet of Jorat, comprised of four old houses, lies on the old Val d'Isère road, which wound its way through the glacial moraine of La Thuile.
Charming chapels, like signs of grace, dot this venerable path; the Saint-Aubin chapel is located directly opposite the chalet. The Saint-Aubin Farm, built on the ruins of an ancient abbey church, was already a resting place for travelers in the 18th century before the arduous climb to La Thuile.
If you hike along these old roads, you will inevitably encounter these numerous expressions of the religious fervor of the time.
The hamlet, and the farm in particular, sits on the edge of the forest, dominated by tall fir trees and beautiful larches. To the west, the view extends to the Isère gorges, from which the furious roar of the torrent, forced by the rock, escapes. And if your gaze turns uphill, the mountain reveals its full power; the foothills of the Mont Pourri massif rise majestically, soaring towards the sky, covered in forests and alpine pastures.
Summer and winter alike, this place exudes power, calm, and serenity.
Living in a mountain hamlet requires a few organizational rules.
Plan ahead for food supplies and, of course, drinks.
Keep an eye on the weather forecast: for temperature, to choose the perfect terrain for your skiing adventures the next day, for comfortable clothing, and also for getting around.
Given the chalet's location, vehicles are essential. We offer various transportation options if you wish to arrive by train or plane. The D902 road runs directly above the hamlet; it's a key access route to the major ski resorts and, consequently, is constantly cleared of snow, even during heavy snowfall.
Pets are welcome, provided they are well-behaved.
